90 4.3 TBI s10 Very Rough Idle Stalling
the problem all started after i ran out of gas 1 night....i got some gas....drove home, got up in the morning started the car, while it was in park it started idling crazy and died...i started it again same thing......
i pulled it into the back yard where we been tinkering with it....i changed cap, rotor button, fuel fiter, air filted, pcv valve, got the egr off now for cleaning.....
but its still idling very rough and dying...i can keep my foot on the gas and keep it at a steady idle for a few seconds and it will start cuttin out and wanting to die, then i give it more gas and it quits for a few seconds...

It's possible that you sucked up some junk that's stopping up the sock on the fuel pump.
How did the fuel filter look? Have you watched the injectors spray to see if the pattern looks good?

That's similar to what was happening to mine before I had to change out the fuel pump. It would sputter around and eventually stall unless I kept my foot on the gas... and then once my foot was off the gas it'd just go back into that same routine. If you're able to, might want to check the fuel pressure.
