rusted body mounts 93 blazer

Default rusted body mounts 93 blazer

hey guys i was just wondering if any one knows if you can fix the front body mounts if there rusted pretty bad. i just want to see if there is any thing i can do. it is sagging really bad to the pass side.

Anything can be fixed. The direction you take depends on what you have as far as tools and experience.

Are you talking about the body mounts on the front of the cab at the firewall or the ones up at the radiator core support? If it's core support, replacement core supports can be purchased and bolted in. If it's the body itself, then you will have to fab up replacement plates, cut out the old, and weld in the replacements.

ya sorry i didnt put that it is the oned under the cab and it is a s10 blazer. one of my buddys was telling me to put 2x4's under it righr there and bolt them in.

A 2x4 will never last. Even pressure treated would only be a temporary fix and one that would lead to more extensive damage to the body of the truck due to trapped moisture.

What is your goal with this truck? If you just want something to last for a year or so, you can basically do whatever you'd like. If you want it to last a long time, you will need to use metal and get it put back together properly.

LMC actually sells these had to replace them on both sides when i did my rust removal/lift/repaint you can find them at the very bottom of THIS page

ill try and post some pics of the lean tomorrow. i got the truck it had 140k and i got it for $800 all the power windows work the locks the ac is ice cold the interior is mint. the only thing i had to do was pit a FPR on it and one of the fuel rails had a hole in it from onr of the spide fuel legs rubbing in it.

i got to do left and right front cab too, is it as simple as chisel and grind out old and weld in new?
i think there is also a backing plate?
