The GM part for the 1993 Blazer LH Front door lock switch has been discontinued this is a work around using a duralast switch that is supposed to be a direct replacement for the 1993 and I suppose the 1992 as mentioned above by CHRIS015. This worked like a champ with nothing to do but a little swapping of parts.

Here is what you will need:

1 small flathead screwdriver
1 small eye glass screwdriver or small pick
1 Duralast switch SW3814

First take the old cover off the switch:

Using the flathead screwdriver pry the cover away from the keeper on the switch while wiggling it out, then pry the other side of the switch. The switch and the thumb **** will comeout.

Remove the thumb ****:

Next flip the switch upside down and use the eye glass screwdriver to take off the thumb ****. Insert the screwdriver in the small hole as pictured and pry outward, it takes very little to pry it off the actual switch.

Remove rocker from new switch:

With the thumb **** and cover removed you can now move to the new switch and do the same for that rocker attached to it.

Attaching old parts to new switch:

Next take the thumb **** and attach it to the new switch, it will snap in place.

Put the cover back on to the switch and it will be ready for reinstalling in your door.

The only difference now is the new switch does not have the clips for attaching to the wire harness so you may want to put a small wire tie on to keep it in place, though I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem.

I just had to know the parts were interchangeable but with out enough pictures on alot of the sites online it made it difficult to determine if it would work. I looked at the switch you mentioned but skipped it primarily because of that rocker on it, it did not look like the one I had. Thanks for offering to pick one up though chris015. Maybe it will get added to the DIY, I'm sure I'm not the only one with a 93. With parts being discontinued and the vehicle not getting younger its a viable option to put an OEM looking switch back in place.

I had to do something very similar to replace a defective window switch on an '86 Eldorado Biarritz. The switches on that car were rotated 90° from the normal position. I bought a Dorman replacement switch and then hooked it up so that the switches themselves were 90° from their normal operation. Instead of pushing the front left switch up to raise the driver's side window, I had to push the front left switch to the left to do the same thing. It was a little confusing at first but I got used to it and it was a heckuva lot cheaper than buying a new switch from the Cadillac dealer.
