93 w vin start problem. No spark at plug
I know about all the pressure test that need to be done.
So until I can get a gauge this afternoon I thought I would
check for spark at the plug last night.
However, I am not getting spark at the plug when I take it
out and hold to the frame.
I should get a spark correct?
If so what could be the cause and maybe my next step?
Still need to check pressures tho. For sure.
Original problem was while I was on way to work it just
died like it ran out of gas. It would crank but not a hint
of trying to start.
egr, crank, cam, temp sensor?
Could be pressure but found it odd that it had no spark at frame.

You should have spark, yes
Sounds like your ignition control module.
My truck did the same thing, was driving and it just died, No spark (tried carb cleaner in the intake and it would not fire)
I tried a spare coil, cap and rotor.. Only thing that was left was the ICM.
So I would pull your ICM and get it tested, or just get a new one and see if that fixes your problem.
If it does not fix it, You can always return it

Yes that was the lines I was thinking.
Anyone ever have crank or cam position sensor problems?
The crank sensor is on the back of the block? Drivers side?
Correct?
Cam sensor??
Does these motors even have a cam sensor??

sorry for the delay. been riding my harley till I had time to fix.
Finally fixed it and it was the icm inside the distributor and the cap was bad also. It was only about a year old distributor tho. so go figure. Todays electronics gotta love them.
