Question AC Delco fuel pump replacement

This weekend a friend and I are going to put in a new fuel pump.
Really need to get my Blazer back on the road.
(This riding a bike to work sucks).
Anyway, are there any suggestion or things I need to know to help the job go smoothly???

Thank you for any suggestions.

Spray down all of the connection points with penetrating oil a few times a week for a few weeks if possible. Makes getting things apart much easier.

Hopefully your sending unit is still in good condition. You might want to make sure that a store local to you has a new sending unit on hand before you tear things apart just in case.

Check the fuel line(s) O-rings on the sending unit to make sure they are in good shape. Empty the tank as much as possible, you'll be tossing it around to get to the lines. In hindsight, I would have removed the drivers side rear wheel to get better access to the fuel lines. Use some vaseline on the sending unit clamp down O-ring to hold it in place while you turn the set ring. Inspect the rubber hose that comes from the gas fill inlet, make sure it's in good shape. You might want to pull the tank completely out and inspect the tank for rust or debris. Besides that - good luck

What they said. Id buy a sending unit too, they are only like 50 bucks at autozone. Why go back in later to replace it if you can skip the troubles and do it now. Id also replace the inline fuel filter, and fuel relay under the hood. Hell i even replaced the oil sending unit on mine when i did the pump, when they go bad, sometimes it'll tell the computer there is low oil pressure and stop the pump from running. its gm's little safety thing.
