dead r12 system to r134 conversion dead in water help ac techs
bought a very clean 94 lta2 this year... so nice i'm converting to r134. had a newer rebuilt 07 r12 setup well it ate itself metal shavings everywhere!!! so went to convert to r134 bought new r4 compressor and to get warranty bought new accumulator, orifice tube ,flush ,oil ,and low cutoff sensor ..
PROBLEM start here
last part to put on was accumulator and vacuum down surprise evaporator out fitting wont fit! stock oem evap off both brazers wont fit it .. accumulator is toughone brand like the rest of all the new parts . had another new accumulator from 4seasons same thing evap out wont tread but hose from compressor fits both accumulators.. wtf....!!
anyone have this problem?
any help appreciated

Not sure why
I'm not sure why it won't fix but from my understanding you pretty much need 100% new system. Hoses, compressor, etc, etc.
From my undestanding the comrpessor has to be bigger to make up for the fact the r134a is not as efficient as r12 was. Also that the hoses leak the r134a due to being smaller molicules.
Wow that was a bad spelling. Anyway you can look it up online. To bad the compressor died like it did. You could have converted too freeze12 and keep the r12 system in place.
Thanks,
Josh

whent to stealership and got stock accumulator put some retro fit fitting on it. new r134 accumulators they sell don't work with oem evaporators don't know why . running cold ac.explorer no way i could convert the compressor blew apart splitting the case and sounds like a bag o nut when you shake it... how much is freeze 12 i only spent 15 bucks on r134 for the whole system + 170 for compressor and stealership 40 $ accumulator
