Fixing up newly acquired 89 Blazer
Hi everyone!
My dad passed away last Fathers Day 2014. He left me his truck and I've decided to fix her up a little bit. Not gonna dump alot of money into it but the motor is in excellent shape so I figured why not make her look better.
I will post a few pics when I have the chance to upload some to photobucket but in the meantime I have a couple questions.
I was driving it about a week ago when all of a sudden when I pulled to a stop the engine would rev up so high. I replaced a valve that's near the distributor that has wires coming out of it. Now when I come to a stop the engine wants to die so I have to throw her into neutral and apply gas to keep her running. Also, since replacing this valve my oil pressure gauge is thru the roof!! Literally, stuck at the top. So I'm guessing the valve I replaced is an oil pressure valve??
Oh, and around the same time the fuel problem started my dash lights Wong come on. My check engine light works (stays on matter of fact) and fuel gauge works. Just no lights to them....
Any thoughts or help on my situation would be greatly appreciated! I want to keep this truck as long as possible for its the last thing my dad left for me. Thanks alot folks!!
