Default License plate bulb socket

So a went to replace the bulb for the license plate awhile back and it did not light up. So today I tested to see if I was getting power to the socket and there is 11.45 volts. Anyone have any ideas why the bulb will not light. It is a single wire socket for the bulb.

Figured it out. It was not getting good ground. Steel wooled both surfaces and it works now.

That will do it everytime. I like to put a little diletric grease into all my electrical connections - it keeps water out.

Sounds good thanks for the advice. Will pick some up next time I am at the parts store.
