Losing power when going uphill.

Losing power when going uphill.
86 S-10 blazer.
The car has plenty of speed/power while on a flat road but the moment it hits any sort of incline, it seems to lose all pulling power, to the point it seems to barely creep at all. Also, at times on flat roads, the engine will not respond immediately to the gas pedal being pressed, and after a few moments, accelleration will occur.
This just started occuring today.
Checked sparkplugs and wires. Oddly, one was rather loose, pulled it, was badly burnt so I replaced it and made sure it was tightened. However, this did not fix the problem.
Any ideas?

Also check your catalytic convert. If it starting to clog up it will do the same thing... I have had it happen to me thats how I know...
It will get worse and worse untill it will not run.
