Default Oil pressior sky high 1985 S10 blazer 4x4

Hi

Having a little problem. Resently my oil pressior went sky high. The needle startet off jumping around from 0 to max.. Now it only stays at max
What could it be. Have changed the oil, but that did not help.

Another question i have it. Recently i changed the radio. Took out the old AM radio and put in a cd player. But now when i turn on the park or main light i loose power to the player and a nasty humming sound comes in the speakers. Sound goes after RPM. Bad ground or something else??

Thanks

For the oil pressure issue, I would put a mechanical gauge on at the engine block and see what it really is reading. It will likely be the sending unit (located off the rear of the engine near the driver side valve cover).

For your stereo problem, it sounds like you have some wires crossed somewhere. I would check over everything, looking for burnt or otherwise damaged wires under the dash.

Okey i`ll cheak that.. The thing is with there stereo is that on the old orginal player the dimmer is connected to it.. Had to byepass that to get the darn thing to work at all.. And if the radio cable touches the player the fuse blows!.. Should i try an make a new ground and pluss cable?

Thanks

Probably would not hurt, but it sounds like you have quite a few other things going wrong in your truck... I would be more interested in getting those other problems fixed so as not to get caught with a cab full of smoke at some point while driving down the road, if you know what I mean...
