pitman arm on a 94 4x4 blazer

Default pitman arm on a 94 4x4 blazer

i need to change my pitman arm any tricks to it?
it apears i neeed to un bolt the steering box because the pitman arm is like 3/4" from the crossmember i cant even fit a wrench to take it off

Remove the steering box, there is 3 or 4 large bolts that hold it to the framerail and disconnect the input shaft. You will probably need a pitman arm puller to get it off the steering box splines. Mark where everything was aligned before you take anything apart.

Do what ohsofly said above. I did mine on my 84 and it was a little tricky. I used a 33mm socket and breaker bar to get the nut that holds the pitman arm to the steering box and then just put the pitman arm puller on there.

I have bought a pitman arm puller online and it really is a great tool. I used to have much difficulty changing the pitman arm but not anymore..

it is like everybody says when your done make sure the idler and pitman arm are the same length from the frame to keep your alignment correct
