Default rear lights not working

Hello,
my rear lights aren't working, I'v checked the bulbs and thewiring. I also checked the front parking(?)lights because I think they're linked together at the fusebox. The fuse already blows when I activate the parking light switch. Is this perhaps a common fault or has anyone had this happen before?
The car's a blazer s-10 1994 4-doors model
thanks

I did some searching and it seems that the sigarette lighter sometimes gives problems but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Also I think the fuse would have to blow instantly when pushed in if this was the problem. Could the switch itself be faulty? I wanted to take it out today but couldn't figure out how, anyone got a clue? On my vehicle it's on my left side next to the dash.
tnx

Usually removing cig lighter requires removal of the dash piece its mounted in, once that panel is removed unplug the lighter and put your finger inside to hold it still and unscrew the sleeve from the backside (at least thats how i do it but i do things with limited tools so there may be a better way but its pretty easy)

ok thanks I'll try that tomorrow, as its dark over here now. But I kinda doubt that's the problem', as the fuse only blows when I turn on the parking lights. Could corrosion inside the lights cause short-circuit? Tomorrow I'll also try disconnecting both lights and see what happens
