Default Fuel Pump Burnout

Hey Guys,
I have a 92 Blazer and need some ideas as what could cause a fule pump to burn out or stop working. The back story is this. My fuel pump went and brought it to the shop. He replaced it then a few months later the pump died again. Brought it back to the shop and replaced it with a new one. Now I believe the pump went again. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this? Thank you in advance for the feed back.

have you looked at the wiring? make sure nothing looks burned out and make sure you have a good ground. do you run your truck around on empty alot? gas cools the pump and when there is nothing in the tank there is nothing to cool. my brother just burned his out like that. as soon as he put cool gas in it fried the pump

What brand of pump are you using? Delco or Delphi are the best to use. Anything else is really crappy. Also have to agree with the fuel level theory. The fuel helps keep it cool and last longer. Thats way some people always fill up when they hit 1/4 tank.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for responses. I am not sure of the pump brand. I know about keeping a least 1/4 of a tank with gas but the last pump was put in about 2 weeks ago. Would it have bured out that quick? Has any ever heard of have had that bad of luck to have replace a broken item only to use two faulty items? I guess I have a lot more home work to be done. Again thanks for your input.
