Default 1997 Jimmy ignition switch

I changed my switch but I can't get it to where I can get my key out or acc.
Can anyone give me some ideas?

By switch, I assume you are talking about the ignition switch. The ignition switch has nothing to do with the key's ability to be removed from the ignition lock cylinder...

I was able to remove the key before I did this as it was suppose to, but I can't get it out of the tumbler without depressing a small round cyclinder incased in plastic but once you turn it as to start it it won't go into the off position.
