Default 2000 blazer sport utility upper noise and runs rough.

I just bought an 2000 blazer body and every thing like brand new. But the motor runs real rough even makes the tranny shift bad and no heat. Loud tapping noises up top. When I started it oil pressure at 60 went down to just above 40 psi even at idle. My thinking is heads?
VIN: 1GNDT13W9Y2230982
Year: 2000
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Blazer LS / LT / Trailblazer
Style / Body: SUV 4D
Engine: 4.3L V6 CPI
Country of Assembly: United States
is what the VIN # gives me.

How to fix new motor or just rebuild upper part and how.

Sounds like the intake manifold gaskets have failed!!! Loud tapping noise (upper) sounds like the lifters...if the motor injests enough coolant, it can and will thin the oil down to the point of causing the lifters to 'make' noise!!!! How does the oil look? Milky? Try doing a search here on the forums for intake gaskets.......there is a ton of info regarding this issue as these motors are known to have failing intake gaskets..... There is also an improved design available from felpro that addresses this issue... Good luck

Oil looks old but not really oily. Runs real bad. With it holding 40 psi I'm sure it
be upper problem. Maybe change the heads? Rollers? Hard starting also. Real hard.
No power.

As mentioned, check the intakes, then it might be a good idea to check this: https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...eakdown-88305/

U obviously seem convinced that u know 'what' the problem is here!!!:icon_ perhaps, the guy @ AZ told u what was wrong with it???? the oil doesn't look oily? What's it look like? Does it resemble a melted milkshake?

Default How to take the inyake and heads off 2000 Chevy Blazer

Hello I'm thinking of taking the intake manifold and heads off to rebuild the heads and new
rollers and stuff that a like. Is there a page (video) would be nice. My 15 yr old with little info will be doing this for my back can not take it.

Good for him to learn anyways. Been looking still will. But be faster for some that has been there already.

The reason I can hear the tapping noise and runs bad low power. I posted this earlier:

Would be best to diagnose the problem rather than take it apart needlessly. Heads can't make tapping noise.

What would make tapping noise? New to this Blazer. Own Impala runs like a champ. I was told check intake manifold caskets.

The oil looks black. Loud tapping is all I said. Use to the older models. Back in my days. 40 yrs ago.
