Default 2001 Blazer-fixed backup lights, now won't start

Does anyone know, if you fool with wiring in back of 2001 chevy blazer to fix back-up lights..is the wiring connected somehow to starting the car. Fixed the backup lights and now car will not start. Can start it by putting ether in but it dies. Replaced fuel-pump thinking that was it...but no luck..Desperate..stuck out of town...thanks in advance for help!

You may have shorted something out when playing with the wiring, which, in my experience, can effect anything in a vehicle. I'd double check the wiring and all that.Check all your fuses and stuff too; I hate wiring so I don't play around with too much of it, but good luck

All the wiring originates in the front, and some of it goes to the back. I have no idea why the backup lites, and the fuel pump would be related though.... best bet is to first, check the fuses, and see if anything is blown.

Oh, well it would probablybe something morethana problem with your reverse lights.Does it crank, is there absolutely no power, power but no crank?Moredetails would help narrow down where the problem is coming from. I'd start with checking your vacuum lines first though, then all the small things like fuel pressure, check for a spark, all that good stuff.
Good Luck!

What did you do to fix the lights? Have you checked the fuel pump fuse and do you hear the fuel pump or fuel pump relay.

The fuel pump wiring is grounded in the body harness to right taillamp harness, at the RR of the vehicle. Is that where you were repairing your back up lights?
