2001 Blazer power mirror issue
The switch for my power mirrors only moves both the driver and passenger side, to the left. The right, up left and down directions do not work. I tried cleaning it but it seems not to help. Any ideas, also, if replacing the unit, what is it called so that I can order it...

It's called Outside Rear View Mirror Switch.

I just had the same problem, I took out the switch then opened the switch up and with a pincil eraser cleaned all the contacts inside the switch, I also soldered on a new light bulb because that also stopped working and GM, bless there hearts wanted to sell me another switch for $100+ dollars

Those mirror switches like to corrode. You probably just need to clean it out like how the guy above did it.

Both my outside mirrors quit moving electrically years ago, but they were in the right place, and only I drive my 2001 Blazer. When the right mirror housing broke big time recently (sun damage), I ordered two new heated power mirrors (Rockauto, TYC-brand, $65 total in 2020). First new mirror I installed still wouldn't move. 3 amp MIR/LKS fuse in underhood fuse center OK (I read later it stands for mirror/locks - door locks all still worked fine). I read here about cleaning mirror directional switch. Pulled the driver-side door button panel straight up at the front where it has a spring clip and slipped its tab out from the back of the door opening. Slightly spread the big tabs apart on either side of the switch and it came loose from the button panel. Compressed wiring plug tab and unplugged it. Used small flat screwdriver to release four tiny tabs to take the two halves of the switch apart. Broke nothing. Peeled the rubber cover off the arrow buttons (looked like when cleaning a TV remote). Cleaned all the contacts with a pencil eraser as suggested in earlier post. Then I went a little further and cleaned them again with a Q-tip soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Q-tip got black from removal of additional residue. Repeated with a clean soaked Q-tip. Also cleaned the left/right selector switch contacts similarly. All contacts looked unworn. Then I decided to lightly swab all these contacts with anti-oxidation grease (I use NoAlox, similar to Ox-gard; maybe dielectric grease would be ok too; I use on every old electrical connection I disturb; has kept my 44 yr old MG Midget completely working electrically). Put mirror switch back together and plugged back in. My new right mirror started working very well ! Took a risk and tried the old left mirror I hadn't gotten to yet. It now worked in all directions too, but sounded like it was dragging a little. It had a smaller crack starting in its outside housing, so I felt good about replacing it as well. These techniques helped me for this specific problem, can help with many types of old electrical connection problems, and can cut down on the new parts you have to buy.
