Default 4x4 question

Hello all,

I have a 2002 Blazer with a 3 button switch for the 4WD

My 4WD has stopped working. The 2HI light is always on but when I hit the button for 4HI or 4LO nothing happens. Seems like either the switch is bad or the TCCM is bad. I figure my best bet is to go to a pick and pull and get replacements. Currently I have the 3-button switch so no Auto 4WD. If I get a 4-button switch and a TCCM from a blazer or S10 with a 4-button switch will I magically get auto 4WD? Or are the connectors differant too?

Thank you

The transfer case is different, along with switches, wire harnesses, TCCM, etc etc.

When you select 4WD HI and 4WD LO, does the transfer case make any noises? Clicking, clunking, humming, etc.

If not, could be most anything. Without removing the fuses, check both terminals on the top of each fuse with a test light or volt meter. Also, remove the electrical connector at the TCCM and inspect for corrosion or loose terminals, same thing at the encoder motor on the transfer case.

I don't hear any noises from the transfer case but I haven't tried it with the engine off. I usually can't hear any noises with the engine on. I will check all the connections tomorrow.
