4x4 engages but makes grinding noise and bangs
bought this 98 blazer about a month ago ($1000) was a basket case, we got snow today and i figured id give it a test before i took my plow truck out, it failed 4x4 engages fine but the pass side axel sounds like it grinds alittle then makes a poping banging sound, sounds really bad. am i looking at a new axel? makes no such noise in 2wd at all. it makes the sound in 4hi going straight or turned.. it has new upper/lower balljoints new inner/outer tierods and new bearings and shocks
