i'm looking for some help with my 2002 Blazer LS 4x4. when i go to put in 4WD the transfer case engages but the front axle doesn't lock. i have replaced the vacuum actuator less than a year ago so i don't think thats it. didn't find out that it won't work til i needed it. it just snowed 12" where i'm at and no 4wd is leaving me stuck in the driveway. any help or suggestions would be helpful.

also does anyone have a good diagram of the front axle on these??

i figured out my problem after got to looking around. the actuator under the battery is broken....again. now my question is, has anyone ever completely bypassed that actuator and just put something like a manual choke cable for a carb and run it inside the cab? seems to me like a good solution to knowing your front axle locks in. let me know what you think
