Default water coming from heat box in bay

ok, ran some searches...notta.

so i am gonna bite the bullet and post this.

i have not run my ac for sometime now...love fall weather...that being said the unit behind the condensor unit (name???) is very cold. and i have been getting alot of water/condensation run off.

so my question is...well..is there anything wrong or have i noticed something that has been there all along, does the ac always do some work or is there a switch / controller messed up. also the hvac controls have to be on vent for this to happen, even with full heat selected it does this.

the heater core / rad. hoses are all good. i have collected the run off and it is just water.

some pics if it helps...

yeah that shouldnt be condensating like that with the ac off. check with the truck running if the ac compressor is on and spinning. anything could be broke. the switch the compressor who knows.

when i had a k5 with working a/c i would always just unplug the condenser during winter cause the a/c would go on with defrost even with the heat on

The A/C is suppose to come on with the defrost setting so you have DRY air coming out to remove the moister on your windshield. It really doesn't cool the air anymore than it already is.

yeah my truck was slow as heck as it was and was missing a a/c bracket so when the a/c kicked on you noticed a power loss and the truck vibrated so it had to go.
