Default Airbag removal

Hi all,
I am new to the board but have been reading all the post,
I own a1997 and 2000 Jimmy.
I am half way through replacing the multifunction switch on the 2000,
I have disabled the yellow airbag connector and battery.
I am at the point of removing the airbag.
My 1997 had clips the 2000 has two torx bolts which i removed.
My question is how do i get the airbag out now from this point?
Thanks Ross

Whoevergave you the information about removing the air bag to replace the MF switch was incorrect.

Youdon'thave to remove the Air Bag when replacing the Multifunction Switch.
Just disconnect the batteryand pull the SIR fuse.

Ha Dino55
Thanks for the heads up.
I got the switch out last night with out removal of the airbag.
Just had to shorten up a #25 torx for the lower bolt.
Thanks for the help.

P.S. I only had a 1997 G.M. service manual which says you have to remove airbag for MF switch.
Is this true on the 1997's?
Thanks again Ross
