Antifreeze Smell

Antifreeze Smell
Ok, I apologize up front if this has already been asked. So with that out of the way, the particulars are as follows: 2001 Chevy Blazer LT 4X4, 129,000 miles. The wife said she smelled antifreeze coming out of the air vents this morning. Heats relatively well. I have been putting coolant in the radiator for a bit now and could not find a leak. It is not over heating, running normal. Nothing unusual on the oil dip stick, nothing on the ground (unless you count what I spill when topping it off).
I am beginning to suspect a heater core issue (Awww crap!). Any ideas on what it would cost for something like this to be replaced?
As always: advice and/or comments welcome.

it does sound like the heater core. Its usually bout 50 bucks at the autoparts store. Labor is what is expensive. If you get some basic tools you can do it yourself and save the 600 dollars in labor. A repair manual will give you step by step how to do it. You do have to take the dash out and it is more time consuming than difficult.
