Take off the lower air dam (what runs from behind the bumper to near the front axle). Look at the passenger side frame rail directly under the radiator for the AIR pump (AIR = air injection reaction which forces fresh air into the exhaust system which is supposed to improve catalytic converter efficiency). Follow the large line out of the AIR pump to where it 'T's off going to either side of the motor. Somewhere after that 'T' there will be rubber elbows. If the check valves fail in the AIR system allowing exhaust gasses into hoses that cannot handle the heat. It may be what you are experiencing.
