Change fuel filter in 2002 Blazer 4x4?
I've searched for nearly an hour and can't find a post explaining how to change the fuel filter. I've read about bleeding the line by removing a relay or unplugging the fuel pump fuse and trying to start the engine? If someone can point me to a how-to I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hey! Well try using the search feature in this forum,but it is very simple! You will need a line wrench and some other basic tools and get the car up in the air.Remove the rear line first,after de-pressurizing the system at the schrader valve located near the distributor.Then unbolt the hanger from the frame to let the filter drop,pinch out the plastic clip and install new filter,new clip.Put some anti sieze on the bolt that holds the hanger to the frame,tighten up and re-install the feed line from the tank being careful not to cross thread the fitting-you want it tight,but not over tight! When you go to start it allow the system to pressurize before you crank it(key on 3-5 sec) and start.
It May stall,but just repeat last step then check for leaks after its running. Best to you!

Thanks Step. I did search on the forum for nearly an hour, but found a lot of conflicting info. How do I de-pressurize the valve? Again, thanks for the quick info.

i've never understood why anyone would want to have raw fuel sprayed in their engine bay?
i've never depressurized a fuel system that way, i've just pulled the fuse/relay for the fuel pump and let it die. most times i just crack the fitting @ the filter, and let it dribble into my catch pan/oil drain pan.
as always, just use caution & good judgement when working around/with fuel systems.
FYI: when you go to remove/compress the plastic clip, give the filter a twist while pushing the filter into the fitting. it'll help loosen up the clip & dislodge any dirt that might get into way of compressing the retaining clips.

But you have to remember! some of these guys haven't been there!-As they are only youngsters! That doesn't make it bad! They gotta learn too!

All I do is open the cap to the tank, then unbolt the backside, pull the clip off the front, and boom! it's off. With the clip, I take a screwdriver and just push one end out until I can open it(The clip eventually swings open). but be careful, you can break that clip by doing so.
