Default checking codes without scan tool?

Is there a way to check the trouble codes on these blazers without having a scan tool?

with the jeep I used to have, you could turn the key off and on a certain number of times, and it would flash the codes for you on the light. I was wondering if the blazers had this too?

If your vehicle has the OBDII diagnostic system, you need a reader to access the codes.

The older systems usually used the flashing trouble codes. OBD II was generally instituted in vehicles made in 1996 and newer. However my truck is a '95 and it has the OBD II plug.

only ones you can check without a scanner is the first gens with OBD1 (pre 94), the 95 and I think some 96s had OBD1.5 and require a special scanner. Some 96s and everything after 97 all have OBD2 and the scanner is easy to pick up at any parts store.
