That's how I understand it. Cut them off and brought them in the house to clean them up. Made me chuckle, I can just imagine that happening. Sometimes novices can do that kind of stuff and think they are doing good. Kind of like when I sandpapered down my crank journal with emery cloth after a rod bearing failure and expected that to work (I was 14 years old). I think this guy deserves all the help that we can give!! And stepson has learned something. Kudos to dad to let him try something on his own.

yep he cut them right off. Lol. I seen him come in the house asked him what he was doing. He said I'm cleaning the plugs like you asked. I said but there in the truck.

He then pulls them out of his pocket and says no there right here He's 13. I guess I should have been supervising a little better. Kinda my fault. For not watching him better.

On a sad note I think the tccm is dead anyway smells Burt and can see some visible ddamage. From water

I had good luck with the Cardone TCCM. Got mine from Summit Racing for about 1/2 price I could get it at local parts store. I just found the cheapest price I could find on the Internet, called up Summit Racing, and asked them to price match. Free ship/no tax outside Ohio. They even picked up the return shipping on the core, but I had to ask them to do it when I was ready. Why Summit?? They have a really liberal return policy and typically ship to my door in Indiana in 1 day for things in stock. They will sell almost anything to you. I have even bought specialty OEM GM bolts for my camshaft thrust plate - but you need to already have the GM P/N for the little small things and best to tack them onto a bigger order to get free shipping. This kind of stuff (TCCMs, OEM bolts, etc) is drop shipped from the factory.

Welcome to the forum. Instead of exhuming a dead thread, you'll get better responses by posting a new thread in the appropriate section. And feel free to ask about any specific problem you might be having. There are lots of people here who might either have a solution or be able to point you in the right direction toward finding one.
