Default clunking revisited....

ok so I did a search...and couldn't find exactly my issue....my problem is when I turn real hard...I get a cunk clunk clunk....only when I am doing slow tight turns..like getting out of a parking place or turning tight...like when the steering wheel is all the way to where it doesn't turn anymore...it's kind of always happened...any ideas?

Does it do it more when turning in one direction and not in the other? Does the sound change depending on the direction you are turning? If it is when you are at steering lock, it may be the CV joints in the front drive axle. If the sound was louder when you turned left, I'd say it is the right outer driveshaft. You could also have someone walk near each front tire while you are slowly turning one direction and listen for it to pin point which side it is coming from.

it's coming from the driver's side right..and only when I turn the wheel in that direction....wait...I think it's just the driver's side..regardless of what direction I turn..and it's only when I turn realy realy hard..not in everyday driving..and it dosen't get louder or quieter

Call around and find a shop that does free front end inspections. Most shops that do alignments do free front end inspections.

There are three things it could be. Hub assembly, cv axle, or ball joint(s). You could replace all of them and remove any doubt, however that is not the least expensive way to go about it.

I suspect swart is correct, cv axle.
