Column Shifter to Floor Shifter Swap
Hi everyone,
In customizing my 1995 auto Blazer, one of the things I'm adding is a car computer with a 7" touchscreen where the radio is. Unfortunately, in drive, the column shifter will make using the touch screen awkward and difficult, being its right in the way. On top of that, I'm not a big fan of it anyway, I much prefer a floor shifter.
I am aware that some blazer's came with floor shifter's. Through searching the forums I've discovered that the swap has been done before, but I could not find any write ups or how to's on it. I'm wondering if it's as simple as going to the junk yard, pulling the floor shifter, cable, and center console, and bolting it all in, or if more is involved.
Additionally, If I have to keep the column shifter, I'm wondering if there is a shorter shift lever I could use - that way it wouldn't block the touch screen.
