Converting All time 4wd to push button?

Converting All time 4wd to push button?
Anyone have any idea as to how hard this would be?
Right now I have a 1996 All-Time 4wd blazer.
I like it for the winter, only problem is that having 4wd at all times is killing my gas mileage.
What would I need to do the conversion?
Push button selector, and all the wiring?

I doubt its killing your mileage...it kinda stays in 2wd until it detects slip.
Theres plenty to look into before trying to swap it.
But...you would need a new transfer case, new front driveshaft. You would have to replace the 1 piece front passenger side axle shaft with the 2 piece passenger shaft from non-autotrac blazers, then you need a vacuum actuator or a posi-lock cable to be able to engage the front axle collar when you select 4wd...
Might I interest you in a new blazer instead?

No, it doesn't stay in 2wd until it detects a slip, I had it on the lift at work and when in drive, all four wheels were getting power.

The earlier systems were a full time 30/70 F/R split.
The rest of what Jason has stated is true though. There is A LOT to change over.

Well, **** it then, Haha.
My 4.3 is getting higher in miles so I'll just swap a new(er) motor in and keep the All time 4wd.
