Defroster vent grille

Defroster vent grille
I'm in the middle of a heater core replacement on my 2004 2-door S-10 ZR2 Blazer ... yippee skippee ... and was wondering how to remove the vent grille atop the dash without destroying it and scarring up the plastic.
I will have more questions as I go, as you might imagine.
Thanx

Just for anyone else ...
... I pried it out and it broke off in about four places. It was set in with eight spring clips lined up on either side of the cast-in cross bars. In hindsight, the way to get it out without breakage would be to use a small block as a fulcrum and to protect the dashboard surface, then use a wide flat tip screwdriver to pry up at the back four clips, carefully and a bit at a time. Once the back is tilted up, the front clips will follow.
I was able to glue the broken pieces back on with model airplane cement.
Now I have the dashboard out and I'm trying to figure out the maze wrapped around the heater core. I swear, I've done this on late-model Cadillacs with fewer problems ....
