Default Doing a fuel pressure gauge test on my '95 Chevrolet S10 Blazer.

I am going to do the fuel pressure test tomorrow to see which is causing the problem. I don't know if it is the spider injector, fuel pump, or what so that why I am doing this. I got a fuel pressure gauge but need to return it on Monday. So I wonder if anybody did these things so I can do steps by steps?

That should help you out. Basically, key on, engine off! Psi should be about 65, with no leakdown for 10 minutes. Hook up the gauge to the schrader valve, on driver side, behind throttle body. Location depends on what type of system you have. 95 was a transition year.

Ok thanks 50lb_cat, I was going to do it today but have to go to the birthday party pretty quick here so tomorrow after work I will do the test and write the numbers down.

Here are my numbers after I did the test.

60 psi when key on
52-55 psi key off
52-54 psi when engine running

Is that 52-55psi just after the pump shuts off or after the 10 minute wait stated in the test procedure? The pressure shouldn't drop more than 5psi over a 10 minute span after the pump shuts off.

Sorry about the last post. It was 60 psi for key on, 57 psi key off and 10 minutes later. 52-55 psi was when the engine running. Hope this makes sense.

Sounds like your fuel system is operating properly. When was the last time you cleaned the MAF sensor, EGR valve or did a tune up?

I did the tune up sometimes this year. Never clean the MAF sensor or EGR valve. Where are they at and what to use to clean them?

The MAF is inline after the airbox. Its a big curcular thing. The EGR looks like a soda can, in front of the throttle body. Check out the tech articles/ DIY section for good how to's. I'm using my android or I would post you the links.

For the MAF use maf sensor spay cleaner made by crc, IIRC. The EGR you can use throttle body or carb cleaner.
