Default driverside door lock jammed????

I have a 2000 s10 4dr 4wd blazer. The driverside door is locked and I can't unlock it with my key or keyless remote. All the other doors will work. The lock seems jammed because my key won't even begin to turn the lock and I tried unlocking it from the inside and the lock won't lift up either. Any suggestion on getting the door open? Thanks.

Default RE: driverside door lock jammed????

I had door lock problems on mine once. While trying to solve the issue, it locked up so tight I couln't unlock it, so Maybe this will help:

The interior door handle is spring loaded, so when you pull on it and release, it snaps back into place. This snap, at some point cracked the plastic "stop" in the mechenism. When it cracked, it put a lot of pressure on the door lock mechanism, keeping it from moving. Since this must move to unlock the door, nothing I did could get it to unlock.

Remove the little panel with the screw driver behind the interior door handle. See if the door lock mechenism at that location can be moved up and down. If it's jammed, check if its jammed like mine due to cracked plastic. I dont know if a 2000 has the same parts as my '98. But maybe this will help you a little.
