How much CFM is needed? (Radiator E-fan)
I'm looking to do the E-fan mod and I was wondering how many CFM should I make sure the fans can move? I looked at the Flex-a-lite 480 - Flex-a-lite X-Treme S-Blade Electric Fans and it says it does 3000 CFM. Is that to little or more than enough? Or I was going to look into getting 2 12" fans and fab up a shroud.
I know of people getting their fans out of Taurus and Concord/intrepids, but if rather buy new then junk yard pick off something with unknown miles and condition.

E- Fan
All of the E-Fan mod's which I have seen on similar vehicles
are two fan units.
I would be interested in finding out more on this topic if someone
has seen thread's related to this topic. It won't be for a while -
probably in the Spring when I may consider, but anyway . . .

Well the flex 480 is a dual fan unit with plastic molded shroud, but I figure if it's not enough CFM I'd look into getting 2 that combined would be enough.
And I'm also probly not going to do this till spring also, but I want to try and get everything together (maybe Christmas preasents lol) and then pop it all in when it warms up. Plus I want/have to do the big 3 upgrade and probly an optima battery first to make sure I'm good with this and my 55w HIDs

Just curious as to why you don't want to use the intrepid fans? You can buy them brand new for like $100 and they are easy to mount and wire up for two speeds and work great for cooling the 4.3. Even the mechanics at the Porsche shop didn't believe me that they didn't come factory on my blazer cause they fit so perfect!

I'm not against using them I just never thought to try and get one new. When ever I think NEW oem parts my wallet tries to run away... Lol. So I'll probably look into that then. But still am curious how many CFM should be used at minimum. Would you happen to know the part number for the fan by chance or what year and engine size I should get it from (if it matters) I don't know if they used different fans for different engine sizes.
