Question

Well, I'm back...

I have a '95 Jimmy and some of you might remember that I bought it with issues and ended up finally fixing it by replacing the ICM, then two weeks later I bent a piston rod because I didn't know what a hydrolock is.

I would love to just have a shop fix it because I work a lot and this thing is so dang hard to work on, but I don't have the cash.

I am trying to pull the oil pan off the bottom so I can get to the rod, but the front axle is in the way. It's the last thing I need to remove, and the Chilton's isn't very descriptive, just "remove a few bolts."

Can anyone provide me with more detail or point me in the right direction? I already tried the search.

Well, I should be more accurate: Chilton's is descriptive, but only for the whole removal. I am trying to drop the axle a few inches without removing the half-shafts. I don't have the tools or the patience to remove the half-shafts.

I did find the two bolts that seem to be holding the weight of the axle, but when they were taken out the axle didn't budge. So... I am at a loss.

you have to take out the drivers side upper control arm to get at the bolt that holds in the diff also take out one or both of the cv chafts to give your self room to move it out it can be a pain to get out it takes some work also taking the bolts out of the oil pan and moving it can help in getting it out
