Box behind driver's rear tire?
Hey all,
I had a question about my truck. Im in the process of trying to remove my fuel tank to change my pump, and I noticed a box behind the driver's rear tire. It looks like there's fuel line's running in and out of it. Can anyone tell me what's in there? And is it going to affect my fuel pump replacement? It's a 2003 GMC Jimmy. I did the same operation on an 89 GMC Jimmy and according to the Tech Articles on this site, it should be about the same, no?

evap canister
evap canister. it's supposedly filled with charcoal and the lines carry evaporated fuel vapors from the tank and a purge solenoid forces them up to the engine for combustion.
Just reconnect the fuel lines as they came off the old pump.
