Default hazard switch

Hey guys today i replaced my dads heater core on an 1997 s10 pickup LS

well I sorta broke the hazard switch

I did look at the diys and found the part numbers but after i looked up the part numbers they said it only fits 98 + trucks

any ways it dose look like i can pull the rest of it out but i wanna make sure i can replace it with this one before doing so

Dorman-924-608 Hazard Switch, New | eBay

Edit: this is the diy i was reading also saw the 98 + one

That's the correct switch. Ihad the same issue on my 95. Royal pain to pop out the lower chunk, but once out easy replacement. Good luck
