Today i was in my garage and start my blazer again. So it is winter time and he will not run on the road. So i still have my Flickering problem. Ok so i know some details about replace kids and parts to solve my Problem. But if i will calculate in Euros the rebuild kit to a new generator it wil be about 20-30 Euros different. So what you guys think about to replace the hole part? and keep the old one as an spare. Because the kid the time together will cost me more as i get a new one.

Make it sense or is a rebuild kit better in point of quality.

Thanks to all

Poertsch.

1997 does not use PWM to control the alternator. PWM is used on 1998 and newer only. Could be any number of things causing the flickering lights: worn brushes, voltage regulator, failing diode, failing commutator, etc. It will require taking the alternator apart and checking each component, it might be easier, cheaper and faster to replace the alternator.
