Hi guys, my 4x4 light keeps coming on and off randomly. Whenever I switch from 2 wheel to 4 wheel the light comes on and to switch back to 2 wheel I have to shut the truck off. I have replaced the switch on the dash already but it hasn't fix the issue. If someone knows how to get a diagnostic code it would be great to know. If you guys could help me out that would be great. I have a 2000 Blazer with the ZR2 package. Thanks.

 

How many buttons on your dash switch? I believe the diagnostic procedures are different for the three-button system and the four-button system.

 

Did you replace the switch with the same switch?
3 button for 3 button.
4 button for 4 button.
Sounds like yours is doing the same thing as mine did. My switch came un-soldered from the circuit board and all I did was re-solder and it's been working good ever since.

 

I have the 4 button switch with the auto 4x4. Thats the switch that was in it when I got it so thats what I replaced it with. The switch seems to work fine but once in 4x4 the service 4wd light comes on the instrument panel and then it wont go back to 2wd.
