If you are talking the fan mounted on the water pump pully it is a simple job. You only need a large crescent wrench. One that will fit on the shaft. It has a 6-sided shaft (like a bolt head) find a way to stabalize your water pump pully. You can do this by wedging a long screwdriver or tire tool in the nuts that hold the pully onto the pump itself. Then the fan is a reverse thread. When looking at it from teh front of the truck push the wrench over the top from passenger side to driver side. That will loosen it up and simply unscrew it from the water pump.

Why are you pulling the pully off the power steering pump anyhow?

I ended up getting the pulley off w/out removing the fan but the fan has some scaring on it now. The wrench holding the nut on the pulley tool got wedged into the fan. That's why I wanted to take off the fan.
The next problem I have is getting the hose and bolt off the back side of the pump. The hose nut is rounded off and I can't get enough room to turn a wrench on the bolt. Any ideas???
