intake manifold gasket repair
well it seems as though the time has come to replace the intake manifold gasket on my 96 blazer. it is now literally pouring coolant out in the crevase between the lower intake and the head. so as i prepare to replace this is there anything i should know or be aware of while or before doing this.

RE: intake manifold gasket repair
Your gonna have to do the front and back of the intake with with some RTV or Right Stuff. You can do it without taking the upper intake off. Just make sure you torque the bolts and set it on straight. Clean the surfaces of the old gasket really good. And make sure when your tightening the bolts you do a first pass and then a second pass at the correct torque and the correct sequence. Other than that you should be all set. It may take some time to do but if you do it right youll be all set. And dont forget to disconnect the negative battery cable just to make sure you dont set any codes.
