Key locked in ignition, 03 2dr 2wd
Another day, another problem. Tonight I was getting into my Blazer to make my way home from the grocery store when alas it won't start. I turned the key and there was a click, the engine not even trying to turn over, and all my lights went out. I couldn't lock the doors with the switch or anything electrical. The key was also locked in the ignition. It was also on a slight incline if that could make a difference. EDIT: Also with the key turned I can't shift from anything but park.
This happened the other day when my mom drove the vehicle also but we had though it was due to a dead battery and a jumpstart got it going, they didn't think to measure the battery and see if that was the problem or not.
I got out and measured the battery voltage where it read a nice 12.3V as usual. I popped the little cap on the release switch and removed the key and tried several more times to start the vehicle with the key getting stuck each time. Every now and then the lights would come on to only again go out when I tried to turn the vehicle on. On my last try I got frustrated and hit the center console shifter and the lights came back on. This time when I turned the key it magically started. Now that I have it home I have started it a couple dozen times and it is doing fine.
On the drive home it seemed to want to stall at every stop and ran rather rough. When I first got it started it wouldn't idle and the gas had to be pressed.
It got a new distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, and dealer fuelpump at the beginning of September. The starter was replaced 2 years ago with a factory new one which was around the same time as the battery was replaced.
