Default keyless entry?

what's up folks? i have a 2002 blazer, with factory alarm and keyless. i just bought an extra remote cause i lost my extra. i'm trying to find out how to program it. chevy want's 80.00. this has to be somthing simple to do. i have a 95 blazer with an aftermarket alarm witch is very easy to program a remote to. it's got to be somewhat alike. any help would be great.
thank you,

I really don't know for sure. I thought that you just had your 'active' remote and took held it next to the one that's getting programmed and hit the same buttons on the 'dead' one and the 'active' one at the same and the dead remote would pick up the signal from the active one. Like I said, I'm not for sure about this one but it's worth a shot.

aftermarket ones are all different how you program them. i know that factoy ones need to be programmed with the Tech2 scanner. find out which brand system you have and see if they have a website with instructions. sorry.

The tech 2 scanner is something the dealer has to test the ECU, it isnt something yoou would be able to do yourself.

Thanks! I just now found out that my blazer has keyless entry. But when I bought it (used) it didn't come with any. Any idea where to get the stock remotes?

Search around on the net. I'm sure you can find one for pretty cheap. Or try the link at the bottom of this forum. Haven't looked at it yet, but its a good starting point.

I decided to try something out of the blue...I went to the dealership where I bought my blazer and asked if they had any remotes because I just found out that it had them. They said yes, gave me the remotes, programmed both of them for me. All for FREE!!!! What a bunch of nice guys. The remotes are used, and there is a button on them. It says "Rear 2X". Does anyone know what this means? Just curious, I've never seen this button before.
