My truck is leaking Anti-freeze/water somewhere i cant find. I have checked Radiator, heater core, water pump, and any lines i can find and none are leaking but it's always all over the ground after i leave it for a few hours. We did have some snow about 3 weeks ago and in Ga that is rare but it had 50/50 anti-freeze in it and i drove it those days. This all started when i noticed a small puddle in my friends driveway, checked fluid, not much gone so considered it due to me topping it off a few days b4 that. 3 days later it overheated at about 230-240 degrees and went back down to 190-210 b4 i got home. I didn't drive it long at that temp, thought thermostat but drove it again to "test" it and did fine, no issues or leaks. A day later overnight it leaked just about all radiator fluid on the ground. I notice that as i drive some gets splashed on the front passenger side wheel and is also on that same side's control arm. When I look up underneath it it is leaking around and off the bottom of the tranny. If anyone can point me to something that i havent thought of to check would be appritiated. I've been told to check freeze plugs? Where are they? Also worst case scenario i have a cracked block, truck has 210,000 miles. It's hard to look around the motor of these things. to compact.

 

first off check you Radiator cap if it is weak and will not hold 15 pounds pressure iit will leak when driving and for a while after it is parked, also have your cooling system pressure checked , at that mileage it could be the intake gasket leaking , freeze plugs will leak all the time so if you put fluid in it should run right out as you fill it

 

check the heater core hose going into the lower intake on the passenger side, mine had a hole on the bottom side of the hose that you could not see, hope this helps

 

The cap is old but i dont think it is leaking from the cap or the overflow tank, as a matter of fact that always ends up dry. As for the radiator itself i'm sure it's fine casue the leak is towards the back of the engine. However there are a few more hoses i'm going to check, a heater core one mentioned will be one of them. I just gotta wait for it to stop raining cause looking for water leaks in the rain doesn't work very well

 

Have you looked at the freeze plugs in the block. My neighbor had one in the back, under the bell housing leaking. They had to pull everything off to replace a $1 plug. He was PO'd!!

Fill it up then put a pump up pressure testor on it, then start looking for the leaks coming out.
