Default Battery Issues

Today I was driving on the interstate with the cruise on at 60, it was a bad downpour pretty much a white out, I got close to home and my radio started to sound weird then the abs and parking brake lights came on, went right to my mechanic and we checked the brake fluid and a few things and my brakes were fine and the light was out, went to start it to leave and it was dead, he hooked it up to jump it and the thing said it was not charging properly. The positive terminal was barly connected. He tried a bunch of diffrent bolts to get it on properly and finnaly got it but when we jumped it it still was not charging properly. Ended up putting a new battery in it and all is well, was just wondering if this is a problem alot of people have. Seems strange.

Side post terminals have been known to corrode from the inside on an old battery. Perhaps that is what happened.

Well batteries don't last forever . Just be happy it was just your battery and not your alternator..that might have gotten expensive lol.
