Default P0155 changed part-engine light on

Changed the sensor (2002 blazer) but the engine light is still on with same code. Is there something else I should do to turn the light off? Inspection due in Feb. Thanks

So you changed the first O2 in the exhaust on pass side, right?

did you notice any burnt or frayed wires? Specifically the pink and black wires? Which should read 12v with key on.

Umm... I assume you drove it around a while, right?

the sensor was on the passenger side behind, technically after, the cat. So new one installed but light still on. does it reset automatically or do I need to do something else?

It should go off after a certain number of key cycles

fyi.... the o2 sensor behind the cat has nothing to do with fuel maps. its there to see if the cat is working properly, if you replaced the sensor, cleared the code, and it returned. than i would be making sure the sensor is recieving the right voltage and the computer is reading a voltage from the sensor and if all that checks out, than i would be looking at replacing your cat.

Yep.. replace the one in front {engine side} of the cat.

{cylinder} Bank 2 is always side opposite Cyl 1, Sensor 1 is always the primary O2, the one that test fuel mixture.

ok, according to the repair manual and my neighbor as well as the parts guy guiding myself, a single mom and my teen son, we changed the correct sensor. I have only put 75 miles on the vehicle since changing the sensor.

as a licensed mechanic, unless you clear the codes with a capable scanner the light wont go out or until it has successfully cycled thru a certain number of ignition on/run/off. you can always disconnect the battery for ten minutes than reconnect it to clear the code.
