Default Oh Boy! Hear we go...

Just been under my truck to look for the constant rattle & all I found was oil is leaking out the driver side CV joint. Also notice a clicking sound when I turn.

When I take it in, do they usually replace both or just the one?

Is it an expensive fix?

Kiwi thats grease that comes from the cv boots, there shouldnt be oil in there.. Out here by us on the far away islands LOL they now swap out the complete axle assy... and the auto parts store sends the old one out gets repaired and they resell them to the next person needing one,,price wise for that dunno!!!

Thanks for that.

When the weather cleared I was able to slide under & take some pics.

Looks more like oil coming out the diff!

It looks like you have a seal leaking in the front diff to me.

RELIEF!! All that was wrong was that the left diff seal was leaking! CV's checked & found to be OK.

Now I bite my fingernails waiting for the bill!

Had them fixed the aircon & heater at the same time.

Default good luck

hope your bill isnt to pricey bro, around here in cali it costs a grip to mess with a/c and heater things. I think the mechanics just need to make a boat payment.... lol. The seal you probablly could of done yourself to save a couple bucks though, its not that tough if you have the time.

Yea, wasn't sure about the diff thing. Might have been something internal too. Thought it best to have them check out the whole front end while they had it. Anyway, a/c & heater work spot on so I'm happy.

I'm expecting a bill all up of around $800. Price you pay for riding American down under!!

if the rattling noise is happening while running, it may be your catalitic converter. try hitting it with a rubber mallet to see if it rattles while the car is off.... then you will know if its bad or good.....
