blzR, not being daft at all... OP didn't give us anything to go on here...

Have you tried tapping it with a hammer? What is it doing when you attempt to turn it (after pushing down as previously mentioned)?

I find that when all else fails, a large pair of channel lock pliers (twisting while applying downward pressure) always works. Be sure to have a replacement cap before removing in this manner.
