Default re-program door remote

So, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so let me kow if it isn't!

I changed the battery on my door fob the other day because it was dying a slow death. Since then it hasn't worked. I have found the instructions on this site on how to reprogram it, but I'm wondering about my car starter.....On the instructions, it says that re-programming it will de-program any other remotes. So I'm wondering if my car starter remotewould need to be re-programmed as well? Are they are typically hooked up to the same system? It is an after market starter, if that helps?

Hope somebody can help!

the remote start is aftermarket and the keyless entry is factory? just trying to make sure i understand what your saying. If this is the case it should not affect your remote start just the other remotes for the factory keyless entry.

if u just changed the batt in the factory key fob u shouldn't need to re-progam ur starter remote... the only reason u have to re-program ur factory key fob is cuz u changed the batt... so ur starter should **** work, and if it doesn't take it back to who put it in and have them re-program it...

Oh the starter works just fine. I just thought that while I was re-programming the key fob, it mightreset the programming on the starter fob:

1996 - 200?

*Programming erases all previously programmed fob transmitters

Close all the vehicle doors
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder
Press and hold the door unlock switch and cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF
Release the door unlock switch.
The doors will lock then unlock

no it shouldn't reset that start moduel... i use to install startes and stereos... the starter brain is completly different from the blazer... its hard wired in.. the only way u would have to get it reprogramed is if u disconnected the battery...

So I fixed it! I didn't have to re-program it either. I had read somewhere else on this forum to try standing by the vehicle and press both the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time for 8 seconds, and it worked. Thanks for the replies!
