Rear Brake line question

Default Rear Brake line question

Well I am back again for another round with my loving 96 Blazer... So far you guys have helped me out with figuring out my Intake manifold, timing issue, Coil malfunction and replacement and i just got done replacing not one but 2 AC Delco fuel pumps with a new tank (surprised i had to get a second pump) and now 2 days after that glorious tank/pump swap, i now have a rear brake line with a convenient hole in it (rust ate it through, a matter of time)

Specs:

96 Blazer LT
4.3L
4dr
4x4

Now What i really need answered is that if anyone have replaced a line front to back and if they needed to in any way lift the body some to place it back in correctly? For some funny reason beyond me knowing why the hell, Gm though they pull a fast one and run the brake lines on the top of the chassis frame from the back door back to where it heads down to around the diff pumpkin and to the shoes.

Is it something i need to head to the shop for? Is it easier to double flare tap in a new section of line after cutting the old part out?

Any and all help would be more then appreciated!

If you want to distrurb the the two fuel lines running next to the brake line on the frame rail, then it will be difficult to get the line out. Plus I think its bent in a way that its basically impossible to get back in perfect with the truck together. When a shop changed the line going from front to rear on mine he ran it above the other lines next to the frame rail, but it doesnt take the exact path.

Are you sure the bad line is the front to rear line? Reason I'm asking is, it's very easy to rupture (rust) the brake lines from the distribution block attached to the pumpkin that go to either rear wheel. Those are relatively easy to replace. I was able to replace the line from the distribution block to the rear drivers side wheel with little difficulty. You'll need a flare tool (AutoZone borrow) and a new brake line (I bought a generic straight and bent it custom by hand (sore thumbs) but eventually had it pretty close to stock and fit it in. Not a horrific job. Don't forget to bleed the brakes when all is put back together. Good Luck.

I've never replaced the front to rear line though. That looks like a bear of a job.
